Phillip Pratt is a native of Georgetown, Kentucky and owner of Pratt’s Lawn & Landscape, Inc. since its inception in 1993.

Pratt graduated from Scott County High School and graduated from the University of Kentucky, earning a degree in Agriculture Economics. Pratt began his career with Southern States as an assistant manager in their Georgetown and Maysville stores. He then accepted a position as location manager for Cargill, an international agricultural products manufacturer, in Harrison and Scott counties. After ten years, he transferred to TruGreen ChemLawn as a commercial sales representative.

In 1992, Phillip Pratt and his two young sons began mowing on the weekends for additional income. In 1995, Phillip began Pratt’s Lawn & Landscape, Inc. with only two employees. The company has grown to serve Georgetown, Lexington and surrounding areas. Having provided quality service over the years, the business now employs thirty-one, well-trained individuals.

On the company website, Pratt has created a list of promises to his customers and his employees that speaks to the kind of campaign he is ready to begin. The Pratt’s Lawn & Landscape Guarantee, as it is called, promises high standards of work, work performed ethically, proper and professional conduct, and worker’s compensation insurance.

Pratt’s was named Georgetown-Scott County Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year and has been selected as the Readers’ Choice award for best lawn care/landscape in the Georgetown News Graphic since 2007.He is a member of the Georgetown Kiwanis Club, Chamber of Commerce, and KY Turf Council.

Phillip Pratt has been married for 35 years to the former Martha Jane Nave. Martha Jane taught in Scott County for twenty-five years and is currently teaching in the Fayette County School system. They have three children: Ryan, a nurse practitioner with Air-Evac, Tyler, a nurse at the University of Kentucky, and Mariah, employed at United Bank. They also have two grandchildren, Harper and Knox. Pratt and his wife attend Grace Christian Church in Georgetown, where they live.
